THE HISTORY OF CYYAM

as true as jayson can make it...

let's see, how should the story begin? hmmm... how about long long time ago?

this is the year 1999

long long ago, in the dusty roads of 17 mattar road, there was timothy youth fellowship, led by uncle yong seng... it combined with young adult ministry to form CYYAM, Chinese Youth and Young Adult Ministry... CYYAM den was led by the 2 Graces, Grace Ooi and grace Wong, our vision then, ''Arise and Grow''... Fiana, Sonya, Pei Xian and Justin came over(from the english side) to help out in a introduced system of Core leader(ZL) and Youth Leader(GL) system... Bible study was started with the material, Master Life by Avery T.Willis JR.

• 1st ever activity attended by CYYAM was the gospel Serve meant for Christian organised by SYFC
• 1st evangelistic eent organised by CYYAM was a telematch
• 1st ever camp attended by CYYAM, organised by the China Fellowship in Singapore was the TMI(the millienniun impact)

this is the year 2000

Both Graces left us and CYYAM was left in the care of our Core Leaders and Deacon Chee Seng... we had Xxion Force on 13th June that faithful year, which was the biggest evangelistic event ever to be held by us.. we also attended the CO-Camp(organised by Uncle James) which was a camp to train leaders... formally going-to-be pastor James was invited to our church to give a BGR talk...

• 1st ever self organised camp, ''i think i am a christian, so what?'' camp... sentosa campsite...

it was the year 2001

Prayer system was set up, every sunday, all members are encouraged to write prayer request and asked to pray for each other, uncle James officially started serving in GBC full time as youth pastor on 8th May... Young adult fellowship was officially started in July at the Chinese Tea House and we hitched on SYFC for Channel Youth, an evangelistic concert... we had our first ever retreat held in september and it was tru this retreat that the zone system and 5 dept systems was officially set-up.

• 1st ever self organised gospel camp, ''knowing u is so good'' camp, BB campsite...

( i lost my lagguage in this camp if u must know, THE WHOLE FREAKING THING!!!)

and ladies and gentlemen, come year 2002,

THE ZONE SYSTEM WAS OFFICIALLY IMPLEMENTED!!!

introducing to u, the zones...

1. christian out winning souls (cows - led by pei fen)
2. fisherman in saviours harvest (fish - led by ailing)
3. Jesus ambassadors reaching souls (jars - led by fiana)
4. reign of christ's kingdom (rock - led by ying rou and justin)

and the 5 depts... from the BLESS system...

2. LIVE - worship
3. EVANGELISE - evangelism
4. SHARE - fellowship
5. SERVE - service

and we came out with our mission...

this is the year 2003-2007

memory has been failing mi, cant remmeber in which yr all the events take place le... =D

we have had a nemorous number of zone reshuffling since then... from animals(cows and fishes) and materials(jars and rock), we turned to intengible items...

1. PEACE (people evangelising and conquering eststes - led by ailing)
2. PASSION (purity and salvation, saviour in our nation - led by Vinc)
3. LIGHT (living in God's holy truth - led by Fiana)
4. MATRIX ( make asset to resurrection in extreme- led by Pei Fern)

then the next reshuffling brought about the combination of passion light and matrix, so then, there was 2, peace and passion left... CYYAM adopted the people group system where we had different ministries... secondary school ministry, NS ministry, poly ministry, uni ministry and working adults ministry, still within the 2 zones...

further down the years, we changed into

• CLAY - Christ's light among you (led by ailing)
• DEW - discipling eternal warriors(led by pei fen)

with CLAY focusing mainly on NS and UNI and DEW mainly focusing on SS and POLY...

tml, there is once again going to be changes, sad leaving(awww) and happy welcoming(=DDDD) CYYAM has been tru much, have u been part of it? let us do our best in the following years, be it where our focus or ministry lies, we are still in the same camp, fighting the same war, against the same old enemy... jia you brothers and sisters, let the change not be a fruitile one... it is for the future... =D Gambate Ne! すべてのベスト

Last Official Meeting

As the title suggests, yes i did have my last official meeting with weien ytd night at bishan. achieved all tt i wanted(dunno if he knows or not haha)... 3 main points ba, the past, the present and the future is what we toked about...

the past 2 plus 3 yrs have been wonderful to say the least... i have reallie mixed feeling about this coming reshuffling happy excited and sad... happy bacause there are going to be new challenges for everyone to face them together, ''new'' vision and new mountains to climb(oei!! tudi faster la!!! =DD) excited because this ''project'' is new and challenging, new group of leaders, new set of thinking, i'm going to have a new DM(sadded), everything new, and as we toked ytd everyone is going to face a certain major event in his or her life coming yr... sad because so call going to detatch from some ppl, i dun reallie like certain changes in certain area of my life... oh well, what has to come has to come...

for the 2 plus 3 yrs that u have taken mi(gosh that seems like donkey yrs ago when we first started), thanx for always being there for mi, i guess we have been tru alot of ups and downs... including most notably the 2 gospel camps, 1 directly b4 my enlistment and one when i became a 1 yr soilder... the church camps, one in which i went tand the other i didn't... the countless cartel sessions(opps), ok countered off with the EVEN MORE COUNTLESS gym sessions(ok negate off the previous one le)... =D i think we have been to all the possible coffee places, all the resturants, all the hawker centres there can ever be in Singapore le, WONDERFUL =D...

looking back, i think u have given alot to mi, ty very much... =D the times when i was super down and depressed, for certain reasons not speakable to human, what u and Ailing did for me... the times when i was in a state of confusion before the previous camp, u saw mi as down but nt out, thanx... super troubled and tired of leading a double life, thanx for the tok at funan Sweansens, and the tok the night prior to the camp, i guess it reallie helped alot... the numorous times when something that is not suppossed to happen happened, thank you for the understanding... i guess itz about time i gave back to CYYAM and do something which may not be within my limitations but i trust that u will continue to support mi ya?

tru this yrs i hope tt i have reallie not been a hassel ba... somehow i wish that i could have supported u more then i did(if i ever did), but oh well, what's past is past and i just pray that we will support each other(though not the same ''dept'' anymore) if possible even more... i am quite positive that going down to the youth side will be a major challenge to you(maybe because of ur character) but oh well, good training too... 5 yrs wen... =DDDDD

i'm trying hard not to look back already and looking forward to the road that i am suppossed to take... no doubt it will be tough... going to ORD this yr, facing decisions decisions and decisions... have already made one of them, that is my new DM... haha... it will be so different from last time(ur SC he's DI ahha)... i'm abit Domephobic u know lolx... guess it will be good training too? taking up a dept sure iznt easy too... i mean agreeing in itself is not simple le, plus the running of it i guess it will be tough.. but i am sure alot of brothers and sisters will be there to support mi, and i guess not onli mi, but we will allbe supporting each other right? =D

wa... got alot alot alot of things to write today... really grateful, happy and wonderful time... =D

first of all i wanna thank the 8 angels who spent the morning till afternoon with mi... =D listed not in order of priority:

we were at ziling's house for the extended, (actually not realli) QT, less ailing who was teaching, (awwwww sadded)... ya and had a good time of fellowship, singspiration, ''argueing'' discussion, fun, baking, cutting, eating!!!!!=DDD then ailing came and pulled mi to one side said she wanted to tok about the fellowship dept thingy, (which was reallie the reason why she wanted to meet mi today) and we talked... den she gave excuses that the fan is blowing her way la, irritating her eyes la so off the fan, and i was sitting facing the wall... well, didn;t know it was all planned.. =D and then, the cake miraculously appeared and i got my surprised... lolx...

ok tt actually happened in my view point but in their view point, i'll explain, it will be even more funnier... lolx... ailing dragged mi to one side and tok to mi, mi sitting face the balcony, position was pre-arranged... lolx... den yh and gang took the cake and all and crept up behind mi, was reaching withing 1 metres and the fan blew the candles off... and then, ailing made an excuse so as to off the fan and the rest scrampled away into the kitchen... mi apparently didn;t notice anyting amiss, was to engrossed in the conversation lolx... (poor mi)... den the succesful attempt to surprise mi, (with the fan offed) lolx... but anyway, thanks... =DDDDDDDDDDDDD

den i went to meet my fren, whom gave mi a super nice thing... =DD ty dearie haha... =DD

retreat

retreat was well, tiring to say the least, sat downi the whole day, ate and ate and ate, tok and tok and tok... seems like the ultimate fun place ah? but sunday i went church and johnson saw mi, the first sentance was, KAI EN!! NI YOU BAI TOU FA LEHZ!!! and i was like =(((((( haha... ok, if it was real, it would have been worth it... we sorted out alot of things in the retreat and i hope that more ppl will join us in this task of reviving the fellowship, and into the new direction... =D

sunday went to visit JE and JH's grandma... =D she was like delighted to see us, high in spirits and ya, very happie... =D well, we sang a song and cheered her up and she was like pointing everywhere and pointing the finger sign good, good, good... =D we were also very happie la of course haha... =D

den went home ok i took a cab, was dead tired la lolx... reached home an slept, (i showered first), till like the next day morning and back to camp sigh... haha... =D ok la, i slept 12 hours but stil tired... guess it wil be a long long time before i repay my sleep debts.. =D oh well, back to the same old mundane life, just pray that i will keep to my commitment and apply the sermons to life application... =D


a msg to my dear brother... knowing what to do and doing it are totally different things altogether... =D PLS, i pray that u continue struggling.. =d the very fact that u are struggling with this issue show that God has not given up on u yet and u are still giving urself a chance to go back to God, Jesus' blood on the cross has demonstrated the greatest love of all and grace given by Him, no need to feel guilty about sin or whatever, come and be embraced by Him... =D jia you, i have prayed for u and i will still be praying for u... =D

my busy day

today was wonderful... =D morning went to meet darius, a seeker from the past lolx... ate MACs for breakfast, opps... haha... ok la, tok abit and found out more abt him la, long time nv meet him up to tok le lolx... realised how far off worse i could have been if i was w/o Christ... darn... ppl really need the Lord...

after tt i went to sks and read up on some relevant topics ''on my road to recovery'' well, was defintly inspired but still find it hard... haiz... nonetheless, i hope brothers and sisters will be there by me... =D

met weien after tt, walked a whole deal and ate a lot too haha... unhealthy lehz lolx... but i always enjoyed his company... =D am going to be very very sad soon... ... ... haha... but i think, ok nvm, no comments haha... shall not compare anyone with anyone haha... =D

den we went to send pei en off... =D he is like so last min as usual haha... =D ok la, seems more like a gathering to mi instead of a sending off lolx... and shun bian had our farewell with zhiyang coz of the retreat so we cant send him off on sat... haiz... =(

den we went for tuition haha... =D ok la, Edmund didn't come in the end lo lolx... den we had a time of sinspiration haha... =D ok ba i guess... =D just get the feeling ttr everyone is quite tireed haha... yup... tml must wake up early again haha, not reallie much rest actually, like after SAF day den still got so much things to do lolx... =D aiya whatever la lolx... can work in ministry and fellowship with brother and sister in Christ a happie liaoz... =D

cant believe that all my hard work for the past months was over so suddenly today, like just within a few hours... thank God that nothing suprising happened today, so everything went well... =D

anyway i realised i have not been posting for a super long time le, ok according to my standard is very long la, but to others, i think their bog is going to rot le if they dun update haha... =D and even if i did update for the past week, it would have been complains and complains lolx...

so yup, give thanks give thanks... i shall update more... but for now, i have to go back to a book tt i have been neglecting for quite a few days le, yes crrect.. =D huh u dont know? ehx ya la that one lo... =D hah... kk... u got it right? can can so i go read liaoz ah adios... =D
